Cawdor Castle

Today's set of photographs are from Cawdor Castle; outside shots since photography inside is not allowe)and shots in the walled garden.

William Shakespeare has made this castle famous as a result of Macbeth, the play, however it seems that the real Macbeth was possibly a totally different character.

Oh how I long to see such splendid places in person, but must live vicariously right now...

The garden picture is so very, very wonderful! I love the pink and purple colors there, set off so marvelously against the greenery!!!

It's a privately run concern, so the admission charges are quite high!

The walled garden does offer protection, so the flowers bloom well.
