
Many of the flats in Scotland, particularly the West of the Central Belt, have very ornate roses and cornicing.
Since I didn't see any photographic record for Ayrshire, I thought I'd put one up.

Oh, how I love this type of architectural embellishments! I would love to be able to visit several of the Victorian homes in Canandaigua, as I imagine there would be beautiful ceiling details like the one you have shown. I have seen some gorgeous medallions and cornices in old homes.
I was looking online at Renovator's Supply, which has all types of "old-fashioned" goodies for homes...I cringed as I read about their "high density urethane"
medallions. Ugh....
