Ceiling Rose

Today's picture is of part of the detail of a plaster Ceiling Rose in my daughter's tenement flat in Paisley.

Many of the flats in Scotland, particularly the West of the Central Belt, have very ornate roses and cornicing.

Oh, how I love this type of architectural embellishments! I would love to be able to visit several of the Victorian homes in Canandaigua, as I imagine there would be beautiful ceiling details like the one you have shown. I have seen some gorgeous medallions and cornices in old homes.
I was looking online at Renovator's Supply, which has all types of "old-fashioned" goodies for homes...I cringed as I read about their "high density urethane"
medallions. Ugh....
