Birds

This photograph was taken at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Caerlaverock, Dumfriesshire.

The three swans with the yellow, black-tipped beaks are Whooper Swans and the single swan with the orange beak is a Mute Swan. The goose is a Canada Goose.

How beautiful the swans are! They are so graceful...Does that Canada Goose realize he/she is on the wrong continent? hehehe They seem to be everywhere!

Caerlaverock looks like it would be sure an interesting place to visit. It is so cool that you are able to visit such a place and see such an array of birds.

Another lovely photo there - yet another place to add to my list of "Must Visits". I'm never ever going to leave Scotland at this rate (not that I'm complaining!!).

Some folk actually want to classify the Canada Goose as a pest - it's just so numerous.

Oh, I think many folks here would love to hunt Canada Geese year-round...just to get RID of 'em! Yes, they tend to travel in very large flocks, causing people to really, really dislike them. (or, the "litter" they leave behind!)

I just enjoy seeing geese. I used to have a trio of African Grays. They were the best, surest alarm system I ever had!
