This is our little Robin, frequently called a "Robin Redbreast" for obvious reasons.
He might look cute, but in defence of his territory, he can be vicious to other small birds.
He's the most common bird on UK Christmas cards.

I'm having problems connecting to your site.
Oh phooey! I was going to ask if the little bird was a robin, as it really does look a good deal like the robins here, although perhaps smaller. The red breast is truly a giveaway! We also call ours "Robin Redbreast" as well!
I have been having some "issues" with our server. They are supposedly doing maintenance to make things work better...hmmm....
Not sure where my comment went - apologies if you eventually get two identical ones!
Anyway, the last comment said that this was a lovely picture - my attempts at close-up wildlife shooting never come out this well!

The bird Americans call a robin is not the same bird that inspired English writers. That robin in the UK is Erithacus rubecula. The American robin, Turdus migratorius, is much larger and is actually a type of thrush.

This is a robin is it - I thought they were smaller - definitely had one of these at my bird-feeder -- have just refilled it.

It is a small bird; it just let me get up close.
The adult is very difficult to confuse with any other bird because of the red breast, which juveniles don't have.
